Special Announcement

It is with a heavy heart that I am announcing the closing of Taverne Tamblyn for dinner service. This was not an easy decision to make. I love what we have created together: A cheerful neighbourhood restaurant offering the classic french cuisine I love to prepare and serve. Seeing how much so many of you appreciate what we offered has been incredibly rewarding.

But even at the best of times, a full service restaurant operates on razor thin margins. And given the current economic situation in our industry, I feel it is best to turn off the lights in the evenings. Going forward we’ll be focusing on a line of prepared foods, catering and the occasional bistro night. Our last dinner service will be Saturday, March 29th and we look forward to seeing many of you at the bar and in the dining room between now and then.

I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the staff (past and present) who helped me create a restaurant I’ve been proud of. Thank you to all of the incredible customers who lifted my spirits with your praise and appreciation. Of course, none of this would have been possible without the love and support of my wife Sarah, two daughters, Penelope and Beatrice.

Please check our website www.tavernetamblyn.com for announcements of our prepared foods we will have on offer and any upcoming special evenings.

Sincerely,

Ben Gundy

We will be offering our usual menu and our weekly feature sheet until we close the doors on March 29th. Instead of the Tuesday night Prix FIxe we have been offering, the regular menu will be available.
